New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker caught 13 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown during the team's 31-21 win over the Denver Broncos on Sunday. It's certainly a lot more productivity from Welker than he had during the first week of the season, when he only caught three passes for 14 yards.
When asked about it, Welker said "It's kind of nice to stick it in Bill's face every once in a while."
The Bill that Welker is referring to, of course, is head coach Bill Belichick. Welker appeared to be joking, but there may have been a bit of truth behind his comment, with the Patriots declined to give Walker a long-term contract in the offseason. We'll see how things play out.
