New York Knicks guard Jason Kidd has been given a lot of flack for the headband he wore during Sunday's NBA game at MSG against the Indiana Pacers. However, Kidd was by no means trying to make a fashion statement.
Kidd was injured in the first quarter after being hit in the head by the teeth of Pacers guard Lance Stephenson on a head fake while attempting a 3-pointer. Kidd put on the headband to shoot three free throws, then left the game to receive seven stitches. Kidd returned to the game in the second quarter with the headband and a bandage used to cover the wound.
Some in social media hope it becomes a trend, as the Twitter handle @JKiddsHeadband was created in its honor. However, it's unlikely that Kidd will be wearing the headband for long if his teammates have anything to say about it. Carmelo Anthony commented "It's not a good look...Today, he had to do what he had to do. But we're not going to allow that."
