Brooklyn Nets forward Kris Humphries was in the middle of taking a foul shot during the fourth quarter of Wednesday night's NBA game against the Toronto Raptors when it was blocked, which is strange enough. What makes it even stranger, however, is that the shot was blocked by a referee.
Referee Courtney Kirkland came in to prevent the foul shot by Humphries in order to allow a late substitution by the Raptors. Aside from the fact that we've never seen a referee block a shot before, we have to wonder - why didn't Kirkland simply use his whistle in this situation?
In the end, the Nets beat the Raptors 94-88.
