Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith stopped a shot with his face, and saved a goal, during the second period of Tuesday night's NHL game against the St. Louis Blues.
Keith did not take a direct hit in the face, but rather a shot from Blues forward Alex Steen that deflected off the skate of his teammate Marcus Kruger and hit him in the chin. Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford was out of position, so Steen had an open net, but Keith was able to use his chin to hold the puck against his upper chest long enough for the referee lost sight of the puck and blew the whistle.
It was a key play as the Blackhawks won the game 3-2.
