Los Angeles Clippers forward Caron Butler delivered a shot block that hit a referee in the face and knocked him over during Tuesday night's game at the Staples Center against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
It happened in the second quarter as Butler came from behind to block a shot by Thunder forward Serge Ibaka. Referee Derek Richardson, who was standing on the baseline, was hit in the face and knocked to the ground.
Fortunately Richardson was OK, and he correctly ruled the ball out of bounds with the Thunder retaining possession before quickly getting back to his feet. The Thunder defeated the Clippers 109-97.
