SNL wasted no time "tackling" the Super Bowl XLVII blackout in Saturday night's opening sketch with a parody of how the CBS NFL crew tried to kill time during the blackout.
With Dan Marino and Bill Cowher running out of things to say, and Steve Tasker having no information to give, James Brown (played by Kenan Thompson) resorted to reciting interesting anagrams of player names and repeatedly promoting the CBS comedy 2 Broke Girls. Shannon Sharpe (played by Jay Pharoah) started getting a little silly by contemplating who the players would eat first if they had to eat each other, even though it had only been 20 minutes since the lights went out.
Brown got so desperate that he had to bring up Marino's private life, and Sharpe confessed to what Ray Lewis really knew about those homicides.
