The Presidents race at Tuesday night's Washington Nationals game was turned into a shameless plug for the HBO series "Veep" as a 10-foot likeness of lead actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus was teamed with Teddy Roosevelt for the three-team relay race.
Louis-Dreyfus plays United States Vice President Selina Meyer in the series, and a likeness of Meyer was sent to the game to promote this Sunday's season premiere. Fans were given "Teddy and Selina" signs to cheer for the pair during the race, and the character posed for fans during the game.
During the race, a botched handoff put Teddy and Selina way behind the team of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson. Selina displayed some speed and caught up to George on the home stretch, making for an exciting finish. Unfortunately, Selina ran out of gas and couldn't keep pace with George, leading to another disappointing loss for Teddy.
H/T Let Teddy Win.
