San Francisco Giants outfielder Hunter Pence lost a short fly ball in the sun during the sixth inning of Monday's Opening Day game at Dodger Stadium. Although this happens to major leaguers from time to time, Pence had absolutely no excuse because he forgot to put on the sunglasses that were sitting on his cap.
L.A. Dodgers second baseman Matt Ellis ended up with a double on the play, but the Dodgers did not score a run in the inning.
This play by Pence isn't that surprising considering some of the goofy incidents in his past, such as coming to the plate with a doughnut on his bat and running over his third base coach while rounding third to score a run.
H/T LBS.
