Buffalo Sabres center Steve Ott was caught trying to lick the visor of Montreal Canadiens center Jeff Halpern when the two were lined up for a faceoff in the third period of Thursday night's game at the First Niagara Center.This would seem to be a most unusual, and undoubtedly creepy, way to win a faceoff. Fortunately, Ott's tongue never made contact with Halpern's visor.
This video would also seem to support a mandate for NHL players to wear visors. Imagine if Halpern wasn't wearing one? Talk about gross.
