In MLS soccer action, Chivas USA defender Mario de Luna gave the Seattle Sounders a gift by sending a header into his own net in one of the most ridiculous own goals you will ever see.
It came in the first half as a crossing pass by Sounders midfielder Mauro Rosales missed teammate Obafemi Martins and was on its way to the other sideline. For some inexplicable reason, de Luna thought it was necessary to send the ball back to goalie Dan Kennedy in that situation, but his header clearly caught Kennedy off guard, and was certainly a surprise to everyone else watching as well.
Needless to say, the Sounders won the game 2-0, and it should also come as no surprise that Chivas USA is winless in their last 8 games.
