Los Angeles Angels reliever Dane De La Rosa served as a true angel for an injured bird during Thursday's game in Oakland.
De La Rosa was watching the game from the bullpen when he found the injured bird nearby. After gently picking it up and bringing it to the bench, De La Rosa headed to the Angels clubhouse to seek out some medical attention for the bird.
De La Rosa reported later via Twitter that the bird was OK (and that he had named the bird Randy). Teammate C.J. Wilson, who started the game, reported that De La Rosa moved the pigeon to safety outside near the parking lot of the O.co Coliseum.
To top off his day, De La Rosa came in to relieve Wilson in the eighth inning and retired all three batters he faced in the 8-3 Angels victory.
