An fan who tried to run alongside a cyclist in Alpe D'Huez during Friday's 18th stage of the Tour de France paid for his overzealous behavior when he was tripped by a spectator.
The fan in the pink tank top came out of the crowd and began running close behind Tejay Van Garderen before a fan in the blue shirt sent him sprawling to the ground. There was a brief confrontation between the spectators after the incident (captured in the video above), but no punches were thrown and they were separated quickly.
