An Atlanta Braves batboy was called on to remove a live bat from the field during the second inning of Wednesday night's game.
The live bat made its way onto the field after the second out in the top of the second inning and wouldn't leave the playing surface, possibly due to an injury. Braves shortstop Paul Janish picked the bat up with his glove and gave it to the batboy, who brought it back to the Braves dugout.
The batboy was left holding the bat without any idea what to do with it. Naturally, a couple of Braves players had to see the live bat up close and, of course, freaked out a bit when they saw it. Fortunately, however, the bat was not an omen for the Braves, who beat the visiting Philadelphia Phillies 6-3.
