Texas Rangers shortstop Elvis Andrus showed his athletic ability by making the tag at second base on an attempted steal despite slipping and sliding in front of second base during Tuesday night's game in Anaheim.
It happened in the sixth inning as Los Angeles Angels runner Erick Aybar tried to steal on a 1-0 pitch. Andrus slipped in front of second base, but fortunately the throw by Rangers catcher A.J. Pierzynski was so perfect that Andrus didn't have to get up from the ground. It could be argued that Andrus made a better slide into second base than Aybar did.
Andrus had a good game at the plate as well, going 3-for-5 with an RBI in the 8-3 Rangers victory.
