Houston Astros shortstop Jonathan Villar made a strange attempt at a bunt by simply dropping the bat at home plate during Tuesday night's game in Arlington.
It happened in the fifth inning as Villar squared up to bunt on the first pitch of his at-bat. It seemed that Villar was hoping the bat would make contact with the ball and deaden it while he made the break towards first base. Instead, Villar missed the ball completely, leaving him looking a bit silly. However, it's not as silly as Villar looked when he made that unfortunate butt-slide last week.
Villar ended up striking out in that at-bat and went 0-for-5 in the game in the 3-2 loss to the Texas Rangers.
