Music legend and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee James Taylor was given the privilege of singing the National Anthem before Game 2 of the World Series at Fenway Park. However, Taylor seemed to have a small hiccup at the beginning of the song as he began singing "America the Beautiful" instead of "The Star-Spangled Banner".
As the video shows, Taylor sang the words "Oh Beautiful" before quickly transitioning to "Oh say can you see". However, although it was noticeable, Taylor deserves credit for recovering quickly, and once he started the correct song, he didn't mess up the lyrics.
As Big League Stew points out, Taylor later sang "America The Beautiful" during the seventh-inning stretch, with survivors of the Boston Marathon bombing joining him on the field. That helps make Taylor's mixup a bit more understandable.
