Colorado Avalanche coach Patrick Roy nearly ignited a brawl with the Anaheim Ducks by shoving a glass partition separating himself and Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau at the end of Wednesday night's NHL game in Denver.
Roy became enraged after witnessing Avs center Nathan MacKinnon being taken out by an apparent dirty hit delivered by Ducks defenseman Ben Lovejoy (possibly knee-on-knee). It happened in the third period with less than 30 seconds left in the game and the Avalanche holding a 6-0 lead. The incident triggered a verbal confrontation with Boudreau, leading Roy to shove the partition which separating the team benches twice before Roy's assistants stepped him and pulled him away.
Quite an impression for Roy to make in his NHL head coaching debut. There's no questioning Roy's passion, but he will have to be a bit careful with his temper, or it might get him into trouble.
H/T Puck Daddy.
