The Detroit Lions provided a special day for a U.S. Marine at last Sunday's game by not only honoring him for his service to his country, but by helping him surprise his family with an early homecoming.
The Lions honor a soldier during each home game at the end of the first quarter. After Captain Josh Munsee, a native of Grand Rapids, contacted the Lions with his idea, the marketing department knew they had to "make this happen".
Munsee's wife and three children stood on the field watching a video as Matt Stafford thanked Captain Munsee for his service. After a brief pause, Stafford said "Oh, and one more thing, Captain Munsee: Welcome home."
These homecoming videos never get old.
