ESPN MNF broadcaster Mike Tirico mistakenly blamed a personal foul penalty as having been committed by suspended Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Richie Incognito during Monday night's game in Tampa Bay.
It happened on the second play of the Dolphins' first offensive drive in the first quarter when center Mike Pouncey was called for unnecessary roughness after the play. Tirico said "It looks like it's on Incognito for 15 yards." Tirico caught his mistake and corrected himself just before the referee announced the penalty to the crowd.
Obviously, it would have been impossible for Incognito to commit a penalty considering he wasn't playing in the game. However, with all the distractions that the allegations against him have caused for the Miami Dolphins players this week, who's to say that Incognito's not to blame for that penalty?
