Nic Batum feels bad about triple double against Spurs (Video)

Portland Trail Blazers forward Nic Batum got a triple double during Saturday night's 115-105 win over the San Antonio Spurs, but felt really bad about it afterwards.

With the Blazers holding a 112-105 lead in the final seconds, Batum had 8 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. As the clock wound down, Batum casually threw up a 25-foot shot towards the basket just before the buzzer sounded, not thinking it had any chance to go in.

After accidentally making the shot to give him 11 points to wrap up his triple double, Batum said it was the worst thing he's done in his professional career.
"I didn't really think about it but I know it was a bad thing to do. I want to apologize to the Spurs organization," he said. "That didn't show a good side of myself or the Blazers organization. I did not want to disrespect this team. `'
"I've got three triple-doubles in my career. This one didn't count."
Kudos to Batum for realizing his mistake and trying to make things right. If it makes him feel any better, Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich had no hard feelings.
