Los Angeles Kings goaltender Jonathan Quick appeared to take a dive during Monday night's game against Vancouver that was so flagrant that he was called out by the team's own television announcers.
As Quick was passing the puck to a teammate, Canucks forward Dale Weise came to a stop on the edge of the goal crease and lightly bumped Quick. Although Quick went down as if Weise had collided with him at full speed, Kings announcers pointed out to viewers that "you can see that nothing happened". However, Quick's flop worked as it got the attention of the referees, who gave Weise two minutes for goaltender interference penalty in the third period of the game.
