TSN broadcaster (and former NHL player) Ray Ferraro lost his cup of coffee while avoiding a collision, and a high stick, from his booth between the benches at Tuesday night's Vancouver Canucks game against the visiting Pittsburgh Penguins.
Ferraro narrowly avoided being hit by the sticks of both Penguins defenseman Olli Maatta and Canucks center Benn Ferriero as they collided right near his booth. Unfortunately, Maatta's stick knocked Ferraro's coffee up into the air and onto the floor.
Amazingly, however, the lid stayed on Ferraro's cup of coffee until it exploded when it hit the floor. So not only did Ferraro avoid being injured by two stray hockey sticks, but he also avoided being burned and having his clothes stained from the spilled coffee. If losing the coffee is the only sacrifice he had to make to avoid disaster, Ferraro should consider himself lucky.
