A Spanish soccer referee had an embarrassing moment when he fell backwards over a player tying his shoe during Tuesday's first leg of the Copa del Rey round of 16 between Valencia and Atletico Madrid.
It happened in the first half as Atletico midfielder Josuha Guilavogui was kneeling down to tie his shoe. Referee Clos Gomez appeared to be communicating with someone while jogging backwards and did not see Guilavogui positioned right behind him. Ironically, Gomez gave someone a thumbs up right before he backed into Guilavogui, falling over him and landing on his back.
Fortunately, Gomez was OK, which means it's OK for us to laugh hysterically while watching this video over and over again. As for Gomez, we have a feeling he'll be more careful while running backwards from now on.
