NFL legend Joe Namath and retired boxer Mike Tyson were among friends who Jimmy Fallon collected from on a $100 bet during his first episode as host of The Tonight Show on Monday night.
As Jimmy Fallon sat behind the desk for the first time as host, Fallon said "To my buddy, who said I'd never be the host of the Tonight Show, and you know who you are, you owe me 100 bucks, buddy." That line triggered a long parade of celebrities who came out from behind the stage, one at a time, to give Fallon $100. It was obviously a pre-planned skit, but it was fun to watch nonetheless.
Namath and Tyson were the noteworthy celebrities from the sports world who "paid up" on their bet with Fallon. The other stars who Fallon collected from were Robert DeNiro, Tina Fey, Rudy Giuliani, Mariah Carey, Tracy Morgan, Joan Rivers, Kim Kardashian, Seth Rogen, Lindsay Lohan, Sarah Jessica Parker, Lady Gaga, and Stephen Colbert.
