The national anthem before Saturday's NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Daytona was performed by Madison Rising, a group that calls themselves "America's Most Patriotic Rock Band". Madison Rising performed a rock version of The Star-Spangled Banner that was certainly unique, to say the least. Unfortunately, that doesn't necessarily mean that it was good.
How bad was it? We'll let you be the judge of that, but we will try to put a positive spin on it. Madison Rising did get all the words right, and they certainly put a lot of effort into their performance. And it wasn't as bad as the version sang by Roseanne way back when.
