An adorable young fan of New York Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter snuck past a gate to get a closer look at her idol during his sixth inning at-bat in Thursday's spring training game in Tampa.
The little girl opened up a metal chain and let herself into the bottom rows of the section, walking right to the edge of the stands to watch Jeter at the plate. The moment was perfectly captured by YES Network cameras:
The girl watched Jeter foul off a pitch before a security guard walked her back to her seat. Normally we don't condone fans sneaking past security gates, but this little girl obviously meant no harm. Besides, with Jeter retiring after the season, she may never get another chance to get that close to him.
