The Colby College Mules men's basketball team (based in Waterville, Maine) may not be famous for their play on the court, but no one has mastered the art of bench celebrations like they have.
Colby College recently compiled a video featuring the best celebrations by the Colby bench players from the season so far. The celebrations range from choreographed dance moves such as "The Bernie" and "The Blender" to sports reenactments like field goal kicking and home run hitting.
On the one hand, it's surprising that this behavior by the Colby bench is not only allowed by the coach but apparently encouraged by the college itself. Most coaches wouldn't allow some of these excessive celebrations, as not only do they call attention to the bench players and away from the guys on the court, but they could be considered disrespectful to the other team.
On the other hand, however, Colby seems to be having a good time, and isn't that what sports is all about?
We'll leave it to you to decide: Is this behavior by the Colby bench a bit over the top, or is this just a bunch of guys that really know how to celebrate?
