Texas Rangers right fielder Engel Beltre had a rather embarrassing moment in the fifth inning of Tuesday's spring training game against Milwaukee when he lost a fly ball in the sun so badly that the ball fell nearly 40 feet behind him.
By the time Beltre chased it down, Milwaukee Brewers batter Mark Reynolds had himself an RBI double as Rickie Weeks easily scored from first base.
Although we do see major league outfielders lose a fly ball in the sun on some rare occasions, it's extremely rare to see one misjudge the ball this badly, regardless of the circumstances. Good thing for Beltre this is only spring training.
