Anaheim Ducks forward Francois Beauchemin scored a lucky power play goal on a shot from center ice that took an unusual bounce off the side boards and into the net during the second period of Wednesday night's game against Montreal.
Beauchemin shot the puck into the air along the side boards, and Canadiens goalie Dustin Tokarski stepped out of the net to play the puck behind the net. However, the puck bounced off one of the stantions and changed direction, heading right in the middle of the open net. Tokarski had no chance to recover and the Ducks found themselves with a lucky goal that tied the game at 2-2.
Fortunately, Tokarski managed to redeem himself with solid play during overtime and six rounds of a shootout, and the Habs earned a 4-3 victory.
