NHL linesman Derek Amell picked up a cowboy hat that was tossed onto the ice and briefly put it on his head after Dallas Stars center Tyler Seguin completed a hat trick with his third goal in the third period of Thursday night's game over Vancouver. Who says NHL officials can't have a little fun?
The cowboy hat was thrown onto the ice by Conrad Shindler, a Texas A&M alumni. To his credit, Shindler was able to negotiate with an off-ice official to get his hat back after the game.
As for Seguin, he also had 2 assists for a total of 5 points in the Stars' 6-1 victory over the Canucks. Needless to say, Seguin was the #1 star of the game.
