Phil Jackson attended Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night for the first time in his new role as president of basketball operations for the New York Knicks and was greeted with a heartfelt standing ovation from the home crowd.
Jackson's appointment was announced in a press conference Tuesday by Knicks owner James Dolan and has given fans of the team a sense of hope. Jackson's presence also seemed to provide a spark for the Knicks in the first half of their game against Indiana as they entered halftime with a 47-35 lead.
