A Philadelphia Phillies fan reached out onto the field and interfered with a live ball, but still somehow failed to come up with it, during the seventh inning of Wednesday's spring training game against Atlanta.
Braves DH B.J. Upton hit the ball up the left field line that was heading for the corner when the fan stopped the ball in its tracks, giving Upton a ground rule double. The Phillies fan then left his feet and reached over the wall by crawling on his hands to maneuver towards the ball, but seemed to give up on hit after getting his hand on it.
That's too bad. All that hard work and effort to get himself a baseball and he came thisclose to getting it. On the bright side, that's a lot closer than many other fans get.
