We can not confirm whether the sound we hear at the 10 second mark of this video taken during the first half of Big 12 Network coverage of the men's college basketball tournament quarterfinal between West Virginia and Texas was in fact a fart. However, the awkward silence that immediately followed between announcers Dave Armstrong and Reid Gettys, which lasted nearly 10 seconds, seemed rather telling.
On Friday, Gettys denied responsibility when confronted with the video evidence, although his wife seems to think otherwise:
