MLS sideline reporter Kelli Tennant was hit in the back of the head with a stray soccer ball during pregame warmups before Saturday's Vancouver Whitecaps game against the L.A. Galaxy.
Tennant was doing a remote segment for Time Warner Cable (TWC) SportsNet when she was hit, despite the best efforts of a colleague who was unable to stop the ball from hitting her:
The scene was reminiscent of an incident that occurred with Jessica Kastrop in Germany last month. However, Tennant proved herself to be a true professional as she continued on with her report as if nothing happened. She confirmed later via Twitter that she was doing fine:
We're glad to hear that Tennant is OK. Maybe the Whitecaps should warn their fans about flying soccer balls. Oh, wait:
Tennant's comment after stumbling upon the sign: "And where was this an hour ago? HAHAHAHH #headache"
H/T 101gg.
