New York Rangers left winger Daniel Carcillo received a game misconduct for elbowing a linesman in the face during the first period of Thursday night's Game 3 of the NHL Eastern Conference Finals against Montreal.
It happened at the 5:51 mark of the first period as linesman Scott Driscoll was attempting to keep Carcillo out of a scrum between Rangers forward Derek Dorsett and Canadiens forward Brandon Prust. Carcillo obviously lost his head as he made contact with Driscoll, which there is no excuse for, whether it is accidental or not. Carcillo was so angry that he continued to resist as Driscoll physically brought him all the way back to the bench. Shortly afterwards, Carcillo was sent to the locker room.
The NHL will likely review the incident, and Carcillo could be facing a suspension.
