Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra may have set a record for the shortest pregame press conference ever before Wednesday night's Game 5 of their NBA Eastern Conference semifinal series against Brooklyn.
After Spoelstra opened up with "Hi", none of the media in attendance stepped up to ask even a single question. Then, after a few seconds of awkward silence, Spoelstra simply smiled and gave two thumbs up before walking out of the room. The entire press conference lasted about 25 seconds.
So what was the deal? Were the media letting Spoelstra off the hook, or were they just having an off day? Either way, we're sure Spoelstra didn't mind it one bit.
The Heat went on to win Game 5 to close out the series and move on to the Eastern Conference finals.
