Pittsburgh Penguins superstar Sidney Crosby speared New York Rangers center Dominic Moore in the groin, starting a scrum at the end of the second period during Sunday night's Game 6 of their Eastern Conference playoff series.
The Penguins were down 3-1 at the end of the second as Crosby delivered the cheap shot to Moore as the clock wound down in the second. Moore tried to retaliate with a cross check but found himself getting knocked to the ice with a left hook to the face from Penguins defenseman Chris Kunitz, which began the scrum.
Crosby did get involved in the scrum by delivering a cross-check to a Rangers player, but was then promptly doused with water by Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist as he skated off the ice. Crosby received a two minute penalty for cross-checking, while Kunitz received two minutes for roughing.
The Rangers won the game 3-1, leading to a winner-take-all Game 7 on Tuesday night.
