New York Mets shortstop Wilmer Flores was shaken up after a ball thrown from the catcher took an unfortunate bounce right into his groin during Friday night's game against Philadelphia.
It happened in the top of the fifth with two outs as Phillies runner Domonic Brown stole second on a 3-0 pitch. Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud made a poor throw that actually hit the pitcher's mound on its way to second. Flores went down to block the ball from passing through to the outfield, but it kicked up and hit him in the groin.
Flores was able to stay in the game, so we're guessing that he was wearing his cup.
