Texas Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor reached third base after striking out, due to a wild pitch and throwing error, during Wednesday's game against Detroit.
In the bottom of the eighth, Odor (pronounced O-door, not O-der) swung and missed at a pitch that bounced in the dirt in front of home plate, but hustled to first as the ball got past Tigers catcher Bryan Holaday. Odor continued on to second base when the ball ended up in short right field after a bad throw by Holaday. Odor may have been pushing it by trying to make it to third with two outs and the Rangers down by three runs, but made it on a close play at the bag.
It's a great hustle play because Odor made it to third, but if he was tagged out, it would have been considered a terrible play on his part. Unfortunately, Odor wasn't able to score and the Rangers lost to the Tigers 8-6.
