A New York Mets fan seemed a bit overly excited as he watched Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman catch a popup right in front of him during the eighth inning of Thursday night's game at Citi Field.
It happened with one out and two men on as Mets batter Juan Lagares hit a foul popup near the stands by first base. Freeman made your typical catch, but the Mets fan inexplicably reacted as if Freeman had made some horrible mistake, throwing his hands up as if to say "What are you doing?"
Most likely the guy was just messing around, but it was a strange sight, to say the least. SNY broadcasters said it best: "Who is that guy? What was that?"
