San Diego Padres first baseman Yonder Alonso ripped his pants while sliding into second base on an attempted steal during Saturday night's game in Atlanta.
Alonso hit a single to reach base in the sixth inningf and was running on an 0-2 pitch to Craig Nelson, who fouled it off behind the plate. Alonso got up from his slide into second and walked back to first with a huge rip on his upper left leg.
Padres television announcers speculated that the pants had been blown out once before, based on the stitching that was already there in the same spot. Looks like the Padres might want to invest some money into better quality pants.
