Texas Rangers pitcher Yu Darvish jokingly blamed the parents of New York Yankees outfielder Brett Gardner for "creating a great hitter" after Gardner hit two solo home runs against him during Monday night's game at Globe Life Park.
Reporters asked Darvish about the expression he made on the mound after the second home run he gave up to Gardner, as he appeared surprised that the ball went out.
Fortunately for Darvish, Gardner's home runs accounted for the only Yankee runs of the game. Darvish earned the victory as the Rangers won 4-2.
