Cincinnati Reds outfielder Skip Schumaker pitched a scoreless ninth inning in relief during Thursday night's game in Atlanta, giving up only one walk.
Schumaker started the game in left field before being moved to the mound to start the top of the ninth to save the bullpen as the Reds were down to the Braves 8-0. Schumaker only pitched six strikes on 17 pitches, but his performance was good enough to keep the Braves from getting a hit.
It was the fourth time in Schumaker's career that he has pitched, but the first time that he didn't give up a hit.
