Lions XII of Singapore scored a strange goal in their Malaysian Cup soccer match against Pahang FA on Tuesday, benefiting from confusion that resulted when a rocket pass went astray and stayed in bounds only after it bounced off the feet of a linesman.
The Pahang FA defenders naturally had presumed that play had stopped and began preparing for a throw-in, which gave Lions XII attackers the unfair advantage as they sprinted through the defense for the easy score.
Some people may call this a lucky bounce. We would prefer to call it cheating.
Fortunately, justice prevailed in the end as Pahang FA won the match 2-1.
