Carolina Panthers kicker Graham Gano got in some practice field goal attempts prior to the second half of Sunday's game against Tampa Bay despite being completely surrounded by a marching band.
Gano gently nudged a trombone player from the Bethune-Cookman University marching band out of the way for one of his kicks, after which a nearby saxophone player appeared to taunt Gano from behind.
You have to respect the commitment by Gano and the marching band members to stay focused on their routines. However, the sight of Gano attempting field goals in the middle of a marching band performance just felt really strange and uncomfortable. Hopefully this type of situation can be avoided going forward.
Afterwards, Gano had some regrets after he got word that his "gentle shove" of the trombone player went viral:
Btw, Graham Gano felt really bad after the game about the band member shove. Said it was playful but wants to apologize
