Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin drew a penalty with a blatant dive during the first period of Thursday night's game against Montreal.
After being tapped on the shoulder by the stick of Canadiens defenseman P.K. Subban, Ovechkin went down as if someone had crashed into him.
Ovechkin's flop obviously worked, as Subban was assessed two minutes for hooking. However, Ovechkin will likely get a warning from the league according to the rules outlined in the NHL's new anti-diving policy. If he tries this again, he should get fined.
