We cannot confirm that Monday Night Football analyst Jon Gruden wants to be the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines football team. However, we can confirm that Gruden DID once say he wanted to be Michigan's head coach...while he was a football player at Dayton.
A recent scan of an old Dayton Flyers football media guide from the mid-1980s quotes Jon Gruden, a quarterback on the team, saying that after graduation, he "would like to become the head coach at the University of Michigan". That's a pretty specific goal.
The Wolverines will likely be looking for a new head coach at the end of the season, given the struggles that Brady Hoke is currently going through. Could Michigan be a possible fit for Gruden?
