One Direction shamelessly jumps onto NFL bandwagon to promote new tour (Photos)

One Direction announced tour dates for their 2015 On The Road Again tour, and they're apparently looking to tap into the NFL's popularity by wearing jerseys of the local teams for some of the U.S. cities they will be playing in.

However, you have to question the effectiveness of One Direction's promotional strategy when they put on jerseys for two teams in the same division, such as the Steelers and Browns:

One Direction took similar photos wearing jerseys for Ravens, Seahawks, Patriots, Chiefs, Eagles and Bills that were all posted Thursday on the team Twitter accounts. This would seem to be evidence that they're just trying to sell tickets and don't care whatsoever about the teams themselves. That's pretty shameless pandering.

To top it off, Harry Styles doesn't actually put on the NFL jerseys, instead choosing to hold them in front of himself so that it looks like he's wearing it. So what's the deal, Harry? These NFL jersey's aren't good enough for you to wear?

In the end, however, the average NFL fan doesn't seem to fall into One Direction's target audience, so you have to wonder what marketing genius thought this was a good idea.
