Minnesota Golden Gophers tight end Maxx Williams made an amazing catch on a sideline pattern where he extended for the catch and made the toe drag for the completion during Saturday's game against Iowa.
At full speed, it was hard to see Williams drag the toe, and in fact, the officials did originally rule the play an incomplete pass. However, the instant replay clearly shows the dirt kicked up by Williams in bounds, so the review of the play gave Minnesota the completion.
In the first three quarters of the game, Williams caught five passes for 46 yards and three touchdowns as Minnesota was blowing out Iowa 42-7.
