Chicago Blackhawks right winger Patrick Kane missed out on a goal after being denied by a "magic puck" during the second period of Tuesday night's game against Tampa Bay.
Kane took the pass on a 2-on-1 breakaway and fired the puck through the five-hole of Lightning goalie Ben Bishop, but amazingly the puck stopped just short of the goal line. A Lightning defenseman was able to knock the puck away before the Blackhawks could track down the rebound.
Things worked out in the end for Kane, however, as he scored the game-winning goal in the ensuing shootout to give the Blackhawks the 3-2 victory over the Lightning.
